Building & Grounds

 

1.        Handicap Parking is in the front of the building.

2.       Handicap Ramp is to the left of the door if you are facing the building.

3.       Door opener is on the right on a column.

4.       Elevator is on the left in the foyer.

5.       Restroom facilities with handicap access are: Main Floor – enter the Internet Café located on the right; Lower level – opposite side of the room from elevator, just beyond the paperback shelf.

6.       Water fountains are located outside of restrooms.

7.       If you need assistance opening a door, moving a chair in front of the computer, etc. staff will be happy to assist you.

8.       Wireless provided throughout the building by Glasgow Electric Plantboard.

9.       The library’s PAC (Public Access Catalog) may be used from any of the public adult or youth computer.

 

Deaf – Hard of Hearing

1.       The library owns many closed-captioned movies.  One may use this search term, close-captioned,  in our PAC to determine  which movies CC.

2.       Sign Language software with games and books may be borrowed from the Youth  and Adult Services desks.

 

Visually Impaired

 

Zoom Text Magnifiers/Readers with a large monitor are on a

computer in the adult & children sections of our library.

 

An OPAL ultra-portable magnifier and handheld lighted magnifiers’ with 2X & 6X inset lens are available to help individuals see the regular print while selecting items from the library or to read magazines or newspaper (in-house).  Inquire at the Circulation Desk first-come, first-serve basis.

Kentucky Talking Book Library

Eligibility for Service

Anyone who has difficulty reading standard print material or who is unable to hold a book and turn the pages is eligible for our service. The condition may be temporary or permanent, as long as a competent authority endorses the application.
